After qualifying from the University of Liverpool in 1997 Jeremy completed his house jobs at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, St Georges, Chelsea and Westminster, St Mary’s and Great Ormond Street Hospitals.
He underwent Higher Surgical Training in North West London completing vascular surgery training at St Marys’ Hospital and transplant training at Hammersmith, St George’s and Guy’s Hospital.
In the hiatus between basic and higher surgical training, Jeremy undertook a postgraduate degree at Imperial College and St Mary’s Hospital and awarded a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of London for his MD Thesis in the subject of haemodynamics and blood flow patterns in vascular surgery.
Jeremy's specialist interests include kidney and pancreas transplantation surgery (deceased donor and live related), varicose vein surgery, vascular access surgery, lower limb vascular surgery and woundcare. In addition he has wide experience in other general surgical conditions and in the management of complex wounds.
Jeremy was appointed as a Consultant Vascular and Transplant Surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in 2011. His NHS base is primarily at the Hammersmith Hospital where he provides a kidney and pancreas transplant service and has set up a program of vascular access surgery for haemodialysis patients - the first of its kind in West London.
Jeremy is originally from Manchester and moved to London in 1998. He is married with two sons and a daughter and lives in North London. He is a keen sportsman, having run the London marathon for charity and plays weekly 5-a-side football. He is a Manchester United supporter. Jeremy also takes an interest in ornithology and takes every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.
In September 2018, Jeremy was appointed a Training Programme Director, Transplant Surgery for the London Deanery.
He is also the Unit Training Lead for Transplant and Vascular Access Surgery at the Hammersmith Hospital and is Surgical Lead for Vascular Access Surgery.
He sits on the council of VASBI (Vascular Access Society of Great Britain and Ireland).
